March 2007

I hope this letter finds you and your family happy

and healthy.  March is usually the end of the flu

season, but this year it got a late start.  If you visit

www.flustar.com you can see what the influenza

activity in your area is.  Another good resource is

the Center for Disease Control.  You can visit their

   website at www.cdc.gov/flu

This flu season affected many elementary age

school children.  This age group is not in the

CDC's recommended age group as being at high

risk for complications from influenza.  I think that

this shows how important it is to make a decision

about  influenza vaccinations for your family based

on what you think is important.  Remember, the

age group that the CDC recommends as high risk

(6 months to 5years) is just that, a

recommendation.   Follow your instincts and do

what is best for you and your family.

Ian's Rainbow Flu Foundation is very excited to

announce that we are going to hold our first

Fighting the Flu Family Walk.  It will be held in

October at the English Landing Park in

Parkville, MO.   I will update you with more details

as we receive them.  We look forward to seeing

you there!  We don't know what we would do

without your continued caring and support.  Thank

you so much in helping us spread the word on the

   seriousness of influenza!

   Stay Happy and Healthy,

   Julie
